After the debut of WOHA Architects new product line at Maison et Objet this year in Paris, the WOHAbeing pavilion & exhibition back have come home to Singapore! Check it out at the National Design Centre until 7 January 2018.
The beautiful ‘beanstalk’ pavilion features an elaborate external facade with original artwork by Richard Hassell, an endlessly tessellated sprout. The pure form of the pavilion is broken up with openings and mirrored furniture displays.
Some of the collections are drawn from WOHA’s seminal projects such as Alila Villas Uluwatu where they were developed as part of Gesamtkunstwerk designs and are being produced for the first time.
I love the solid seats contrasting the block printed backs of the Turtle Chair. One of the highlights of the exhibition is a round wooden table with concentric inlaid rings and an integrated concealed lazy susan (see video below).
