Alila Villas Uluwatu is a tropical resort located on the southern tip of Bali, Indonesia and completed by Singapore-based WOHA Architects in 2009. The beautiful property is insta-famous so I just had to drop by and visit when I was passing through Bali earlier this year.
The resort is stunning with meticulously designed archigasmic moments everywhere you look. The public spaces are generous and frame spectacular ocean views, or look into courtyard gardens and water ponds with Carlo Scarpa-esque details in local stone. It’s a Gesamtkunstwerk creation with every detail custom designed for the resort including architecture, landscape, interior and even furniture- all custom designed. It’s also designed with sustainability in mind.
Some of the furniture pieces originally designed for Alila Villas Uluwatu are now being produced for the first time as part of the new WOHAbeing furniture collections which debuted at Maison et Objet this year in Paris, and is currently being exhibited in Singapore.
