Melbourne is a city without any architectural stylistic restraint, and it’s kind of amazing. A juxtaposition of colonial, modern, postmodernist and contemporary architecture is haphazardly assembled to form the city.
The contemporary structures are even more chaotic, often containing a jumble of multiple architectural styles and languages mashed together into a single building. Even after visiting hundreds of cities as an avid architecture traveller, I’ve never seen anything quite like it.
