The stunning presidential suite on the top floor of the Parkroyal on Pickering Hotel doubling up as an impromptu art gallery.
This weekend, I had the opportunity to
attend the Art Apart Fair, a distinctive art fair held at the top floor of the
Parkroyal on Pickering Hotel, Singapore. The hotel lobby, corridors, rooms, and
presidential suite were converted into a series of unique impromptu art spaces
for galleries from Singapore and around the world.

The organiser mentions that “The concept of an art fair held in a hotel originated in 1994 as the Gramercy International Art Fair in the rooms of Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City. It has since taken off and is regarded as a good platform since it helps visitors in visualising how the artworks might look in their homes”.
It was a very interesting art-viewing experience, with paintings hung throughout the rooms, placed on the beds, and even hung in the shower or leaning within the bathtubs!
The distinctive, lavishly green architecture of the Parkroyal on Pickering Hotel by WOHA Architects acts as a sublime backdrop to the artwork, with verdant skygarden views from the hotel rooms and public areas acting as a backdrop for the artwork and the clean, contemporary design complementing the modern artwork perfectly.
