Singapore’s exorbitant land prices, limited amount of lots zoned for landed housing, and the highest concentration of multimillionaires on the planet has created a conducive environment for the creation of incredible houses.
The modern ‘open plan’ houses the likes of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe take on a whole new meaning in tropical Singapore, where idyllic weather conditions mean that the envelope of a building can truly be open to the surroundings, and lavish gardens can become part of your everyday lifestyle.

hey take a look at some kite architecture buildings
These houses can only be a dream in Singapore for me :'(
a landed housing is already exp enough, let alone such an architecture interior design singapore
If you think it is a dream then it will forever be a dream.
probably only a handful fit the bill as splendid architecture. majority are a merely a display of wealth. well, of course, if you can afford it then by all means
just feel that most are needlessly extravagant. and in context with singapore… considering majority of singaporeans are cramped in tiny pigeon hole flats,
nice architecture should always be appreciated but then again, from a bigger perspective but the disparity between the rich and common folk cannot be better illustrated by the difference in housing.
Spot On My friend
They are stunning houses which is what the article is about. Perhaps you should write one about disparity so that we can discuss that there.
If we're talking about disparity… comparing these 50 mansions to the pidgeon hole HDB flats is probably less disparate than comparing the typical tiny flat to the way that the impoverished third world lives! We all have it pretty good in Singapore (and BTW, I stay in HDB! Haha.)
It is interesting though that on a global scale, these multimillion dollar houses are actually quite tiny compared to the typical home in many western countries such as Australia or the States.
Anonymous #3 hit it spot on, this is a study in a specific architectural typology, I don’t dare to breach the topic of income disparity on this architecture blog! I’ll stick to aesthetics over ethics, thanks 😛
I'm sorry but Australia is not at all western
excellent architecture design!
