Any architect visiting Amsterdam should make sure to take a cycle ride (there’s no better way to explore the bike-friendly city!) out to visit Funenpark, a quirky neighbourhood packed with architecturally significant residential buildings. Here’s a video of my bike ride through the complex:
The unique masterplan by Landlab pairs a wall-like office building (shielding the site from the noise of an adjacent busy train track) with a diverse array of unique residential structures! My favourite thing about the masterplan is that all of the car parking is centralised, making the entire district a car-free pedestrian and bike friendly zone without any asphalt pavement at all!

Funenpark is home to buildings by de Architekten Cie, De architectengroep, NL Architects, Geurts en Schulze, Claus en Kaan architecten, DKV Architekten, Architektenburo L. Lafour & R. Wijk, and Van Sambeek en Van Veen architecten.
